blank

All is set for the annual event; Joy FM’s Night with the Stars musical concert. The show has been tagged as one of the nation’s biggest entertainment event, but if the information available to GhanaCelebrities.com is something to go by, then this year’s edition could be graced by musicians who are classified as group ‘B’ musicians.

Talking of team B, the organizers, Joy FM, according to our sources were only ready to part away with a shocking 1,000 Ghana Cedis per a head as an appearance fee for the ‘A’ list musicians in Ghana instead of the normal 5,000 Ghana Cedis or 6,000 Ghana Cedis that they have been paying over the years. This amount will be paid to every musician that mounts the stage, be it high life, hip life, reggae or gospel artistes.

So who are the artists under the ‘A’ list? Some of the names that readily come to mind are Richie, Eazzy, VIP, Sarkodie, Samini, Okyeame Kwame, Obour, Becca and 4X4. Tinny and Asem who are part of the ‘A’ list will not be available for the show since they are ambassadors of Glo telecom.

Weekly Discussion, The Battle Of The Sexes: Who Enjoys Sex More, Men Or Women?

blank

Last week, I lead a Sexuality Education Workshop in my Psychology class about the sexual lives of men & women. The outcome was very intriguing.

Has anybody realised how women scream, moan and simulate during sex? Yet when they are in labour, they throw insult at their husbands for the excruciating and throbbing pain they experience.

Again, women that are rejected by their men have a “catch phrase”, “he used and dumped me”…What do they mean by “USED” and if it is sex, does that mean only men enjoy it?

Motivational Message Of The Week: The Mirror Relationship Between Failure And Success, Make Use Of The Former To Achieve The Latter.

After spending months preaching and teaching on the web about Success and the simple mechanisms needed to import success into the lives of interested individuals, it took my recent experience to vividly comprehend and realize the entrenched relationship between Success & Failure.

Prior to developing special interest in Personal Development and Human Success teachings, I had always seen “Failure” as a strong antagonist to “Success” and I am certainly aware that majority of people still hold this misconception.

Ghanaian Movie Writers Are ‘Holy Thieves’

blank
Turn Me On Poster

It feels great to know that other Ghanaians are beginning to see the light. The mass “thievery” of the work of other movie writers and novelists outside Ghana by our so called “Ghanaian movie writers and storytellers”  is becoming too annoying and shameful.

I am glad NewsOne has decided to hit on this. Apart from the stealing of storylines, “common” movie titles are also dubbed. It is even worse when these directors and writers start to think the movie viewing population are some ignorant individuals.

Read below for more from NewsOne….

…………………………………………………………………………………………….

For a very long time, I have tried to understand why our Ghanaian movie directors and producers did not pick books by renowned writers like John Grisham, Jeffery Archer, Sidney Sheldon and make movies out of them.

Well, apparently, I have been wrong all this while, as they seem to be ‘stealing’ stories of these accomplished writers without giving them any credit.

Their excuse that they want to direct and produce movies with an African story does not hold because they do not even pick the works of African writers like Ngugu Wa Thiong’o, Chinua Achebe, Atukwei Okai and several other big names in Africa literature. I am not a big fan of movies made in Ghana or Nigeria at large, having been disappointed on several occasion by some of these local movies. I cursed my stars for wasting my precious time to watch a movie like ‘Sexy Angel’, Hot Fork’ etc and since then, I vowed never to watch any local movie.
