Ghana Movie Awards On Christmas Day: Can Agya Koo And Kyeiwaa Beat Majid Michel, Jackie Appiah & Co For The Cars? Full List Of My Predicted Winners…

blank

On Christmas Day, the Ghana Movie Awards will roll out at the Accra International Conference Centre. The award is dubbed the party of the season, this is because half of the seats at the venue has been allotted for the movie makers, that’s actors, actresses, directors, producers as well as behind the scene professionals and crews.

The awards scheme is put together to award excellence in the movie making industry in Ghana. The Ghana Movie Industry has seen a great improvement and it is appropriate that people who helped or people who are still helping are awarded for their great work.

There is no better time to award them than now. The venue will be filled with both crème la de crème from Nollywood and Ghana industry players. As we wait for the day to know who wins what, let me run through my predictions. Predictions are predictions, they don’t really come to pass so I don’t expect anybody to comment out of context, remember you are also free to predict.

In football, there is win, lose and draw but in this one, it’s only about two things; winners and those who will not win (I didn’t use losers for a reason, because the fact that you have been nominated means they are already a winner).

VIP Member Snatches Somebody’s Girlfriend

Heavyweight hiplife trio – Vision In Progress (VIP)- has denied that one of its members, Prodigal, was last Friday caught in an erotic position with someone’s girlfriend at Zenith University College in Accra.

Reports say Prodigal, known in private life as Joseph Nana Ofori, was with the pretty-faced Jasmine Seyram Akortsu, winner of Face of Tertiary 2009, when her boyfriend banged into the room and started raising hell. The guy, whose name was simply given as Felix, was said to have got angry and physically assaulted Jasmine, while Prodigal tried to separate the two.

A source at the La District Police Station told ‘News One’ that the case was reported last Friday evening and both Felix and Jasmine were detained briefly. Te police source added that though Prodigal’s name came up in the case, it could not be confirmed that he was dating Jasmine or that the two were caught in the erotic position. ‘News One’ gathered that after Felix assaulted Jasmine, he also seized her car keys to prevent her from leaving campus as he raised an alarm to gather more students to witness the scene.

He however gave the car keys to a friend who handed it over to Jasmine and just when she was about to drive out of the school, Felix was reported to have stood in front of the car, daring her to move. “It was like a Hollywood movie. Jasmine moved the car with such speed that if the guy had had not jumped, he would have died. But he hanged on to the bonnet and she kept driving till she moved out of campus and turned left heading towards Formula 1 Race way while the guy was still hanging on to the bonnet. “What saved the situation was that there was a Police Checkpoint on the road and she was forced to stop. So the two were taken to the police station and locked up,” a student eyewitness source told ‘News One’.

Pnina Tomai

The wedding we are all waiting to see is almost here. I’d like to take a poll to see what dress Menaye Donkor could wear on her special day to become Mrs.Sulley Muntari.

Flash Back: Yes! Most of Celebs Bleach – So What?

blankOver the years I have grown accustomed to noticing a couple of actresses and I daresay some actors with what I call the three cardinal signs of bleaching; dark knuckles, dark brown spots on both cheeks and dark feet.

Nonetheless, in recent times this trend of bleaching among stars has steadily increased, and this of course has sparked some form of disapproval from some movie watchers.

However the question I would like it to ask here is; do they really deserve the criticism when it seems like the entertainment industry and our society idolize “whiteness or lightness?”
