Love & Relationship: My Boyfriend Wants To Go Back To Ghana For A Year, Friend Says He May Have A Wife Waiting For Him There…I Am Worried!

blank

Dear GC,

I’ve been with my boyfriend for just over a year now and I can honestly say he is the man that has ticked 9 out of 10 things I want in a man. When we first met he was finishing his second year of university and looking forwards to completing his final year.

The summer was amazing and I really had a chance to look at our relationship as one that would go the distance. He made it clear how he felt about me and made a point of making me a big part of his life. We were like glue and spent everyday of the summer together.

Ghanaian Comedian DKB @ Night Of 1011 Laughs & Music

DKB

DKB as the name rhymes with his tag line SEXY DADA B, was one sensation you couldn’t have missed on the night of 31st December 2009; 12th edition of the Charterhouse major comedy show dubbed Night of 1011 laughs and music.

As new as he was on the colossus comedy platform the organizers had confidence in him to be the first performer of the night because the opening artistes were not ready, amidst unsettled audience as some people were now taking their seats and also an unexpected brawl that took place on the right wing of the audience; well you bet that would never have passed without he commenting on it to create a thunderous laughter.

Weekly Discussion, The Battle Of The Sexes: Which Sex Is More Complicated, Men or Women…?

blank

Twenty two players chasing one ball, cars racing around several times and given the name go-cart challenge or nascar. Pull your butt, your eye transfixed on a ball, swing the stick so hard and expect the ball to disappear into a hole and end up calling it golf.

Do all these make sense? Yet men watch these with so much enthusiasm and zeal. Honestly, men are so weird and complicated. A man can sleep with so many women, but if he sees his woman flirting with one man or just having a normal conversation, hell will break loose. They just snap.

Kim Kardashian's Signature Look

Kim Kardashian was recently spotted rockin her new braided hair that she swapped in place of her usual long wavy locks as she went for her gym workout. I’m not so  keen on the look to be honest BUT hey she tried something new right so kudos to her. So now I need some inspiration for what to change my locks and looks to. I need a new hair do to go with my new can-do attitude 😉

If you’re anything like me you don’t quite feel on point and sassy if your locks aren’t lookin’ slick and sweet! I can remeber a few times returning from hair salons and going straight back when I still can’t get over the bumps and lumps that were hidden from my view. It’s crazy right? The London Times News Paper once wrote an article about the fact that black women spend the most amount of money on their hair out of all the different cultural backgrounds. I read the titlle of the article and thought…say no more. I put my hand up, but not in shame. I dont much care for spending £200 on a pair of shoes but i’ll do that for my hair in a hot minute!

New Music: Mugeez Of R2bees Fame Featured By Zambia’s MrVezzy “Imma Badboy”

blank

I cannot understand most of what  MrVeezy is saying in the song but the beat coupled with the “hit hard”  Ragga from Mugeez of R2bees fame makes  “Imma Badboy” a tune which can go far in Africa.

It is great to see Ghana step into collabos  like this. We are used to the regular Ghana-Naija collabos, going far to Zambia to create such a mark is a good work done by Mugeez.

Let the music below play…

My New Year Resolution Is Simple: What Is Yours…?

blank

2011 is here and surely one thing is on my mind. If you have the same mind and want as me, then come and join the fan club. 2010 saw the marriage of my little sister and though I was and have been excited for her, It brought intense pressure on me.

Family members and friends kept looking at my face like I am some weirdo on the wedding day, followed by messages such as “ you are next”, “we are praying for you and you will marry soon”.

The messages of most of the people asking God for a man for me kept pouring in non-stop the entire year as if they know the man I want in my life. I wonder what they tell God to give me in their prayers. I embraced all their prayers with a hypocritical AMEN.

How You Will Not Repeat The Mistakes Of 2010, Grab It Now!

blank

So soon, a new year has catch up on us and most of us will be doing a lot of reflection and planning. In one of my post this year titled “Mistakes Are Important Part Of Life”, I stated the importance of mistakes as we journey through life, do not ignore or lament over your mistakes of 2010.

Rather embrace it with a smile and critically scrutinize the cause and follies that lead to the mistakes so as to step away from a similar occurrence in the New Year.

2010 In Review: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly feat “The DumbAss Queen” Of The Year!

Yvonne Nelson: DumbAss Queen Of The Year 2010
Yvonne Nelson: DumbAss Queen Of The Year 2010

2010 is coming to an end today and I will be looking at what went down in the Ghanaian Entertainment Industry in this post. I wish I can talk about everything but no, it’s not possible, so I will just highlight some of them and leave the rest.

The year 2010 was one interesting year. It was a booming year for the entertainment industry in Ghana without any doubt; a lot of collaborations between the Ghanaian and the Nigerian counterpart in the movie field as actors from these countries invaded both industries.

The year ended with resurgence of ‘twi’ (locally produced movies) hitting it hard with Agya Koo and Mr. Beautiful in fore front with the English movies. In 2010, I stepped on lots of toes but what are toes if not meant to be stepped on.

“Know what you know, know what you don’t know, and know who knows what you don’t know”

It takes a certain type of person with a certain type of quality to take on board constructive feedback and constructivism, no matter how painful the advise may seem. The first time someone told me ‘you’re too sensitive in nature’ I’d look at them as if they were speaking a native  language from an undiscovered African Village. Me? Sensitive? If you say so! The thing is when someone makes such a comment about our personality, you can either brush it off in denial or think, do they have a point? Either way when the fifth or tenth person says it then it’s not denial it’s turning into arrogance!

blankThe fact that it’s the end of the year means there is no escaping the Internet as well as print media which is saturated with ideas on how to keep resolutions. Take your pick there are thousands ideas to choose from! The problem here is, no matter how relevant the information is in all these books, blogs and newspapers/magazines, or what psychological academic genius has written the information, it will fast become irrelevant if the main aspect is missing…

The year is wrapping up and a little birdie told me that some of our stars are considering posh treasures to ring in the New Year. For our leading ladies, the SUV has been the stamp of arrival into financial plenty.

We have yet to see the locomotives of our leading men; perhaps the clues here will shed light on their preferences. We dare to dream big but please be wise with your hard earned money. Should the readers have any hot tips about the latest cars driven by our movie stars feel free to drop a line to the editor for us to confirm.

This year we celebrated the wedded bliss of actress Juliet Ibrahim what better way for her pilot husband to welcome the bun in the oven than to certify the new born with a gift that not even the average 17 year old can boast of having, a car. The TATA Nano to be precise, but not just any one will do a gold encrusted version.
