The concert put together in partnership with FIFA and PinkraMedia has been postponed to Sunday after the Black Stars of Ghana versus Serbians match. The reason for the postponement is simple, the various Ghanaian artistes billed to perform on the night such as Mimi, Samini, KK Fosu, Kwaw Kese and Obrafour boycotted the event.
The reason for the boycott is that their balances due them has not paid. The contract they signed stated that balances would be paid before the show and this has not been met.

While ‘Sex in The City 2’ continues to enjoy patronage in cinemas across the globe, Ghana’s ultimate chick flick, ‘The Perfect Picture’ is also rumoured to have sequel in the works. According to an insider source, Shirley Frimpong-Manso and her Sparrow Production team will commence work on the sequel sometime in July.
Although the sequel might not be titled, ‘The Perfect Picture 2’, all three of the girls will return to continue the award winning story in a direction that is being secretly guarded by Sparrow Production. Whatever the direction might be, certainly it would be interesting to see how it plays out on screen. It would also be interesting to see if the first-time mother, Shirley would incorporate motherhood in the sequel for any of the girls.
Who doesn’t like the man insane or admires his sense of humour? Apart from the fact that Kwaw Kesse talks straight crap in his music, he gets people laughing with most of his controversies. The last major controversy from Kwaw was his supposed chit chat meeting with President Bush when he visited Ghana. We all know what that turned out to be right?
Now, the only man insane, abodam is on his way to South African to support the Blackstars and “do some business” as well. I love to see people use such opportunities to bring home investments and business partners. After all, most of us folks in Ghana are in need of jobs and daily bread.
Anyway, until Kwaw Kesse brings home some business patners in music or whatsoever, I will take his message as another mere talk from the man insane. Lets wait to find out the sort of collabos he finds in South Africa as he goes to market himself on the streets of Pretoria. Massa Kwaw, becareful out there though, I heard SA is not all that safe and good luck with your business kum entertainment trip. Read More Below…
The just ended TV3’s talented kids show (season 1) saw the faces of many children passing through with diverse warm heartening talents. One of such kids with a great impression and mark on my mind as well as many Ghanaians is Awal Mohammed who hails from Nima.
His performances throughout the show were on point. His ability to adopt the rap style of the Ghanaian fastest rapper, Sarkordie was amazing and depicts real talent. GhanaCelebrities.Com hopes he finds a place in the music world with his rap talent. Check out the video below….

Miriam Abdul Rauf a.k.a Nasara is the quintessential definition of a true Ghanaian beauty, arguably the most beautiful woman in Ghana now. Aside her charming looks, the gorgeous beauty queen is also a ‘shark’ reading Business Administration in one of Ghana’s prestigious tertiary institution.
Like many beauty queens, her life took a dramatic turn when she was declared Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2009 at the National Theater in Accra. “I experienced racism on two occasions, the white girls were given more attention and treated better than us the blacks and I was so angry at a point, I had to say on stage that I was black and very proud of it, she lamented. To her, beauty is not about the skin colour of an individual but the intelligence, eloquence and what is within the person and what they can give to society.
In Ghana, certain topics are no go areas when it comes to discussions. One of such topics is sex and homosexuality. Believe it or not, the act of homosexualism (both lesbianism and gayism) is gainning roots and getting bigger in various Ghanaian societies. Those who enjoy and claim to be homosexuals in Ghana are advocating for inter alia, equal right, respect and societal acceptance in relation to their sexual orientation.
Though Ghana is not Sodom and Gomorrah, what is your take on this? What does your conscience and morals dictate when it comes to the issues of homosexuals in Ghana? Do you think they should be allowed to freely practice their sexual orientation in our contemporary Ghana? Do they have any rights or should society embrace them all and accept them as part of us? John Dumelo has described the so-called invasion of Ghanaians actors in Nollywood as a ‘give and take’ affair. According to Dumelo, he doesn’t see the reason why Nigerians are crying about Ghanaians acting in Nollywood since most of the top Nigerian Actors ‘troop’ to Ghana as well. He simply described the situation as ‘they come here and we go there’.
In an interview with peacefmonline.com, he also reacted to the rape allegation leveled against him by nigeriafilms.com. Check out the article below…
At the surprise celebrity-filled finale of the maiden edition of ‘Talented Kids’ reality TV series, actress Jackie Appiah offered a year’s with of scholarship to two of the contestants on the show. To be frank, it has been so annoying over the last few months with so many Nigerian Actors, Actresses and Producers complaining about the influx of Ghanaian movie stars into Nollywood. They have been advising and admonishing themselves to stop using Ghanaian stars in Nollywood as they see these Ghanaian stars are parasites and fully dependant on Nollywood.
Do not get me wrong, I am a champion of, inter alia, globalization, free trade and putting forces together between Ghana and Nigeria to build a strong movie industries. But it is disgusting and makes you feel “shit” as a jingoistic Ghanaian when you read or heard about such unfounded comments from Nigerian Stars. I vividly remember one saying, “These Ghanaians are taken over our industry and to worsen it all, they have started even featuring in the Yoruba movies which we tend to keep to our self”.
Now here is what we got for them as things are getting better in our home too. You started it and we will help finish it for you. The last year saw a great success in the Ghanaian movie industry, Nigerians might have produced in quantity than Ghanaians , but in terms of quality, we were able to battled them head to head. Do I have to prove it by refering you to the African Movie Academy Awards nominations and winnings?.
On their constant out cry to stop the incursion of Ghanaian stars into their industry, One of the best and first movie production houses to bring Nigerians to Ghana, Venus Movies have stated categorically that, they have stopped and would not be using Nigerian movie stars anymore. Whether it is a good move or a bad one, I am down with them as the adage goes, Tit for Tat is never a sin. Read and listen to the audio below…
