The Own Productions section of Viasat 1 has seen a change in baton in the drive towards becoming the number one television station in Ghana. Ms Ama K. Abebrese becomes the new Head of Own Productions, a position previously occupied by Bulgarian-born Ivan Todorov, who is returning to Bulgaria after overseeing the launch of the company’s Own Productions in August 2010.

Ama K. Abebrese, who was recently honored as Ghanaian UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Best Television Personality in the UK, has been part of the team that played pivotal roles in launching the channel’s three Own Productions namely; The One Show, Laugh a Minute and the UEFA Champions League Studio Discussions. Her vast experience in a more matured television market in the United Kingdom coupled with her Ghanaian heritage would drive the channel’s ‘think global, act local’ agenda in their Own Productions.

The past three weeks have been revealing for rap heavyweight champion, Lord Kenya who says that he has been ‘arrested’ by the Holy Spirit and is now a true born-again Christian.

Three musicians have been confirmed by the organizers of the MTV Africa Music Awards With Zain to perform at the 2010 edition of the awards, which is slated for the Saturday 11^th December, 2010 at the Eko Expo Hall, Lagos, Nigeria.

The musicians are Nigerian’s 2Face Idibia, Angolan’s musician Cabo Snoop and Cote d’Ivoire’s DJ Arafat. The organizers, MTV Networks Africa and Zain confirmed this in a press release to the media few days after the nominations.

2Face, Cabo Snoop and DJ Arafat joins the already announced performers Daddy Owen, Teargas, Fally Ipupa and Banky W.

Known for the famous roles she played in Kwaw Ansah’s ‘Love Brewed In African Pot’ and ‘Heritage Africa’, she is back on set again with Kwaw Ansah not as an actress but a co-producer of ‘The Good Old Days – The Love of AA’ which is set to be premiered soon.

Anima met Kwaw Ansah through Target Advertising in the mid seventies for a photo shoot for an advert which through her delivery landed her a role in ‘Love Brewed In The African Pot’ and ‘Heritage Africa’ which were her major movie but prior to that, she was acting in a series on GBC called ‘Avenue A’. Nigerian Breakthrough rapper, Mr Incredible, popular known as M.I has confirmed that he will be attending the second edition of 4syte Music Video Awards slated for the Accra International Conference Centre on November 20.

According to the organizers of the award ceremony, the confirmation was made through the rapper’s manager, Lola Adamson. M.I has been nominated for the Best African Act category in the upcoming ceremony.

Earlier on Saturday morning, I had visited the tomb of my late dad at the La Cemetery behind the Trade Fair Centre, since it’s a stone throw away from the late Terry ‘Adjetey’ Bonchaka’s tomb, I made a stop over to check on him. I reminisced some years back before his demise and I said to myself Ghana has lost a musical genius.
