Organizers of the most prestigious beauty reality show on Ghanaian television, the new and urban television network GhOne Entertainment TV have announced this Saturday June23rd 2012 as date for the national grand auditions for this year’s edition of the Miss Malaika Ghana competition.
The auditions which is expected to attract a large section of young enterprising ladies is scheduled for the ultra-modern studios of GhOne Entertainment TV located next to Rana Motors along the STC Yard/Mechanical Lloyd street commences at exactly 8am.
This year’s auditions promises to be a rather thorough one with a record number of successful applicants who are expected to flood the audition venue hoping to make it into the finalists. Saturday’s auditions will be the only one in the search for candidates for this year’s edition which marks the 10th anniversary of the competition.

Cwesi Oteng Grabs Multiple Africa Gospel Music Award Nominations
Hot on the heels after having a new baby boy, sensational Contemporary Ghanaian gospel artiste, Cwesi Oteng, who is making huge waves on the Ghanaian music scene and beyond, is gunning for this year’s Africa Gospel Music Awards (AGMA) slated for Saturday, 7th July, at the Hippodrome in London.
The 2011 Ghana Gospel Industry Awards’ New Artiste of the Year, 2011 Vodafone-4Syte TV MVA winner of Best Gospel Video and 2011 Africa Gospel Music Awards nominee for Discovery of the Year and Best Gospel Video of the Year categories disclosed his excitement about receiving multiple nominations in this year’s AGMA over the weekend.

DJ Mensah To Battle Nigeria’s DJ Neptune At Ghana Meets Naija Concert 2012
The Ghana Meets Naija has been known to be a musical concert showcasing musical talents from both Ghana and Nigeria; this year however, organizers, Empire Entertainment in a quest to include all facets of the music industry have revealed plans for a battle between the biggest DJs from both countries on the night.
The showdown which is being termed as a Turntable-ist Battle Royale is set to go down between Nigeria’s highest rated DJ, mixtape specialist and Naeto C’s official disc jockey, DJ Neptune and Ghana’s finest DJ and Sarkodie’s official disc jockey, DJ Mensah.
This would be the first time; deejays from both countries are being pitched against each other and its set to become an exciting part of the show set for the Dome on the 30th of June 2012.

Demarco And Samini To Rock Your Republic Holiday
African Dancehall king, Samini will host Jamaican Dancehall superstar, Demarco in Ghana on July 1st, 2012 in a highly anticipated event dubbed “I Love My Life” Concert organized by Phamous TV, LCA Ghana Chapter and Viasat One Television.
Demarco was named as the main international artist for the show after Samini, an LCA Ghana ambassador, had asked his fans on facebook and twitter to name a dancehall artiste they would like to see perform alongside the decorated young Ghanaian performer.
Demarco has been a favorite of most Ghanaian music lovers and party-goers since songs such as ‘I Love My Life’, ‘True Friends’, ‘Fallen Soldiers’ and ‘Nuff Gyal’ became radio-friendly in Ghana. The 30-year old has since been linked to local concerts times without number, though none has materialized until now .
“I have been contacted by so many event promoters from Ghana but either no agreement was reached or the timing was bad until I was approached by Phamous Media Group / LCA Ghana a couple of weeks ago; and I’m more than glad to be doing Ghana as my first stop in Africa”, Demarco told The GH. Entertainer newspaper in a telephone conversation on June 1st.
Demarco (a.k.a Collin Edwards) was born on September 28, 1982 in St. Catherine, Jamaica. He migrated to New York in 1998 where his passion for music increased and he learnt to play several musical instruments. He started creating dancehall, R&B and hip hop rhythms with drums, keyboard and others. Demarco has written and produced songs for dancehall and hip hop greats like Sean Paul, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man Olivia (of G-Unit fame) and Styles P. “. Noise Over Artistes Billed For ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ 2012
Bola Ray and his Empire Entertainment team have created a very big brand out of nothing that is progressively and simultaneously bringing Ghana and Nigeria together to showcase Africa music to the world.
With just a year old and going into its second year, the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ musical show has been fully embraced and endorsed by both governments of the two countries.
Ghana and Nigeria already have a cordial relationship through football matches, diplomatic and bilateral arrangements, cultural exchanges and in other areas. Beyond these, both governments believe that, music is another way of bringing them more closer together.

Majority Of Musicians Failed To Show Up For Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2012 Prize Presentations
Majority of the winners of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) 2012 did not turn up for the prize presentations on Tuesday at MUSIGA Office in Accra.
The organisers of the annual awards, Charter House were ready to present each winner with his or her prize, yet only few of the winners were present. This development forced the organisers to give an ample time to wait for the rest to show up for the presentation to look beautiful.
After several hours, the short event kick started with the artistes who were available. The absence of a number artistes did not ruin the presentation but it did take some shine out of the whole event.
The VGMAs in its 13th edition was held on Saturday April 13 at the Dome of the Accra International Conference. Prior to that, the Industry award was held to award the Industry Categories.
Each award winner irrespective of the number of awards won received GHC 3.000 whiles the ‘Artiste of the Year’ picked GHC 10.000.
