Ghana’s Hip-Pop sensation Kwaku T finds himself stack against the odds, in what could potentially be a contemporary rendition of the biblical David and Goliath tale, as he faces a telecommunication giant in a litigation which is by far the biggest test yet for Ghana’s copy right protect laws.

What actually emerged yesterday during their court session is that counsel for D-Black said his client has decided to pull out of the case leaving his buddy, Kwaku T in the cold. It remains unclear, however, where his pull-out was indeed influence by some pay-off.

Charter House Refuses Miss Malaika 2011 Stolen Verdict + Death Threat Hits 1st Runner Up-Alexandra Ayirebi-Acquah

Gerry and Alex-Miss Malaika 2011
Gerry and Alex-Miss Malaika 2011

Charter House, organizers of Miss Malaika have denied media reports that the Miss Malaika 2011 pageant was nothing more than a stolen verdict.

According to NewsOne report, “investigations have revealed that Gerry Partington actually won the contest on a clean slate and with clean hands as the final score sheet revealed – that three out of the five judges for the night actually voted in her favour.

Though a section of the media had reported that three of the judges voted for Alexandra Ayirebi-Acquah and that only two voted for Gerry Partington, evidence on the ground and the score sheets prove that the judges rather ruled in favour of Gerry but it was the announcer who slipped when announcing the results”.

Speaking on the issue of stolen verdict which many have regarded as going to profoundly affect the ratings of Miss Malaika, Charter House Public Relations Manager-Juno Abena Turkson told NewsOne that “These are very credible persons within the entertainment industry and they are available for anyone to ask them how they voted. Apart from that, it is unfair to blame Charter House because we do not decide who should win and who should not win. We leave that decision entirely to the judges and all we do is to provide them with the score sheets and give them the criteria.

Weekly Discussion: Marriage, A Social Contract Or That Which Depicts Love & Guarantees A Lasting Partnership….?

blank

Recent developments in the world of celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kris Humpheries and our own very own  Christiana Love have made it necessary for me to revisit this topic.

After 72 days of marriage, Kim K called it a quit, a deep slap on the sacred nature of the institution of marriage… Contemporary developments to a greater extent seem to affirm my belief that, marriage  does not guarantee a lasting partnership/relationship but it is just another social contract we usher ourselves into.

Marriage, in spite of its elusive interpretation and the divorce ridden hallmark that has come to typify its overview, has still managed to endure the test of time.   Its root and importance can be traced to the genesis of mankind: where God created living things in pairs and surely it will not be unreasonable to think that these creatures were of different sex.

It is therefore prudent to acknowledge marriage as a concept of God’s imagination and creation to continuously pair us as was done at creation.

The value and substance of marriage to mankind and to our contemporary society varies in our minds as individuals. Many are those who consider marriage as that needed to ensure a lasting relationship and better still, as a fountainhead of love or that which depicts love.
