SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD: Husband Burns Wife and Her Baby Daughter to Death Because He Wanted a Son

Burnt mother and baby in India

It is sad that even up to date, giving birth to girls at certain parts of the world is still considered a waste—as girls are deem not to be of much benefit.

Apart from the below story, I listened to a programme which recently aired on BBC and it was unbelievable to learn that girls were being totally disregarded by their fathers and in some instances sold out for some few coins in India.

However, boys were cherished and given the necessary education and love from both parents.

According to MailOnline;

A young Indian mother has been burned to death along with her infant daughter by her husband and in-laws for failing to pay dowry.

Police in eastern Indian state of Jharkhand said 22-year-old Annu Devi was set ablaze while she was breastfeeding her daughter.

They have now arrested her husband, Gunjan Masat, who allegedly poured fuel over Devi and her baby daughter before setting them on fire.

According to Raghuni Rana, Devi’s father, the couple were happily married for more than a year, but problems started after Ms Devi gave birth to a baby girl.

Post baby photo of the Nun who was recently in the news for giving birth when she claims she did not even know she was pregnant has emerged online…

Roxana Rodriguez, 33, stunned her mother superior and local church chiefs after giving birth last week to a baby boy which she has called Francis, in honour of the current Pope.

How did a Nun get pregnant? And how come no one including herself could not catch the pregnancy until the baby was popped?

According to sister Roxana, she had no idea that she was pregnant and thought her labour pains were ‘stomach cramps’ when an ambulance rushed her to hospital in severe pain after being called by fellow nuns when she collapsed at her nunnery.

New Study Says People Assume An Educated ‘Dark Skin’ Person Goes Against The Norm

Barack Obama

Is someone trying to assert that the saying ‘the pale/light skin rule’ is somehow ingrained in our minds?

According to a new study, racial prejudices and stereotypes may cause people to assume an educated black person goes against the norm, and this makes them an ‘exception to their race’. And that, successful black people are remembered as having a lighter skin tone than they actually have.

I am not sure if I remember Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, K. A Busia and the several others as having lighter skin tone!

According to DailyMail;

Successful black people are remembered as having a lighter skin tone than they actually have, according to a new study.

Researchers from San Francisco found that racial prejudices and stereotypes may cause people to assume an educated black person goes against the norm, and this makes them an ‘exception to their race’.

People therefore assume the person is ‘whiter’ than they are in In order to protect the ingrained stereotypical belief – a phenomenon known as ‘skin tone memory bias.’

Dr Ben-Zeev and colleagues from San Francisco State University conducted a two-part experiment with a total of 160 university students.

SOMEHERE IN THE WORLD: ‘Nekid’ Australian Man Rescued From Inside A Washing Machine

man in washing machine

I’ve heard of stories where some thick people have put their cats and dogs in washing machines, in an attempt to clean them up…But this is the first time I’ve come across a story of a full grown man having been found in a washing machine.

It surely must be explained to this man over and over again that, washing machines are for clothes only…

line

According to Perez Hilton;

Police in Australia had plenty of time to explain that to a man while they were rescuing him from inside of a top-loading machine!

Officials arrived at the scene to find an unidentified naked man who got stuck while playing a game of hide-and-seek!

Not as good a hiding place as you originally thought, huh?

Firefighters, paramedics, AND search-and-rescue crews were also called to help out with the situation! It took over 20 minutes to dislodge this playful Aussie using olive oil as a lubricant!

SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD: Amazon Announces Delivery By DRONE | Airborne Robots Will Bring Packages To Your Door In 30 Minutes

Amazon Drone

Though this sounds like some sci-fi movie, Amazon says this is one of their on-going research to help with speedy delivery.

Apart from it being more of a futuristic idea which may never come to pass, all I can think of now is series of lawsuits against Amazon if this ever becomes a reality—imagine the DRONES crashing into people as they carry packages around.

And what will happen if I am not at home and the DRONE comes to deliver my parcel? Oh what about someone pulling a DRONE down and stealing my parcel?

Sounds fun but not really something that I believe will ever work…

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98BIu9dpwHU

According to The Guardian;

Amazon is testing delivering its parcels using drones, the company’s CEO has revealed. The company hopes to have the scheme up and running within five years.

Jeff Bezos unveiled the idea, which would be known as Amazon Prime Air, on the American news program 60 Minutes on Sunday night.

“The big idea is half-hour delivery,” he said. “You order something and within half an hour you can have a drone land on your front porch, drop off a little box and off it goes.”

The Top 5 REGRETS Of The Dying, From Working Too Hard To Not Saying ‘I LOVE YOU’

making-marriage-last

Life is short and that is why we have to enjoy each  moment  by doing the things that are dear to our heart. A  former nurse has shared her experiences of what terminally ill people tend to regret the most.

Bronnie Ware, a palliative care nurse who looked after people in the last few weeks of their lives, says it is surprising how many dying people have the same regrets.

line

According to DailyMail;

Ms Ware also found men regretted working too hard, while many people wish they had had the courage to more frequently express their feelings.

Inspired by what she discovered, Ms Ware wrote a book – The Top Five Regrets Of The Dying: A Life Transformed By The Dearly Departing – about her experiences.

She said: ‘My patients were those who had gone home to die and some incredibly special times were shared.

‘People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality and some changes were phenomenal.

‘Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected – denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance.

‘Every single patient found their peace before they departed though.

‘When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again.’

She says the five most common regrets of the elderly are:

‘I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me’

‘This was the most common regret of all. When people realise that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled.

‘Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it.’
