If you are looking to be happy in life, the chances that you would not find that in these countries are high—so consider other countries.
A report by Cato Institute has identified some of the most miserable countries worldwide from which IBTimes UK has selected the ten least happy places.
The report calculated the misery rate of 90 countries, using the misery index, an economic indicator found by adding the unemployment rate to the lending and inflation rates, minus the percentage change in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita.
The index measures misery in economic terms, without taking into consideration other factors such as human rights and civil liberties.
Check out the countries below as compiled by IBTimes;
Though it is statistically obvious from the number of deaths, many of us think of snakes, sharks, lions and other animals with large teeth and fearsome reputations as the world’s deadliest killers.
Considering the number of deaths these fearsome and wild animals cause compared to the little ones around us, the world deadliest animals are definitely the little ones
Malaria, which is among the diseases carried by mosquitoes, kills more than 600,000 people a year, while 200million people suffer from it on a daily basis – far more than unfortunate individuals that are bitten by crocodiles or wolves.
On the other hand, Sharks kill just 10 people a year, lions 100 and crocodiles 1,000, despite having among the most fearsome reputations.
It seems like if you are a firstborn and you happen to be a woman, you have a good start of life, when it comes to being successful.
According to to a study, it’s no coincidence that some of the world’s most powerful women fall into that category.
The research shows that firstborn girls are statistically more likely to be the most highly qualified of all their family. They are 13 per cent more ambitious then firstborn sons, according to a study conducted by the University of Essex.
Now if you are the firstborn of you parent, you are on the high road to making it great—at least the odds are in your favour.

First of all, who in his right mind will have 3 years online relationship with a woman that he has never met? Though I am not against online dating, I think people should just start looking around them for love and romance, instead of hiding behind devices—because there are several liars and creeps at the other side…
Despite the fact that this man was deceived, he had no right to pull a gun and kill the woman. Nothing really is what it seems online—was he not told that?
An Indian man shot his catfishing Facebook girlfriend dead after realizing she was in fact a married 45-year-old housewife, police said.
Vineet Singh, 22, reportedly spent nearly three years romancing Jyoti Kori online — who had claimed she was 21 and had used fake pictures on her profile.
The duo finally agreed to meet by a scenic waterfall near her hometown of Jabalpur on Friday. But cops say that jobless Singh, from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, was stunned when he discovered she was actually married with three children.
When it comes to the Ethiopian Suri tribe, these enormous lip plates are regarded as signs of beauty.
If you are wondering how such lip plates are fixed; “when girls hit puberty they have their bottom two teeth removed in a bizarre ritual before a small hole is cut into their bottom lip.A clay disc is then inserted into the hole, which is steadily increased, stretching the lip” says Daily Mail.
In the culture of this tribe, the larger the lip plate the more cows a girl’s father can demand in dowry when it is time to get married – usually 40 for a small plate and 60 for a larger one.
A new study has found that non-African Europeans and Neanderthals were banging each other not so long ago and were making babies too.Scientists have shown that the genetic similarity between Neanderthals and non-African modern human populations must have arisen after interbreeding in Europe and Asia.
It seems Africans got smarter first before non-Africans…
Despite the fact we cannot probably count the number of surgeries ‘Human Barbie’ Valeria Lukyanovahad, 28, has undergone to achieve her appearance, she is back in the news talking about how interracial couples are making the human race uglier and sparking a rise in plastic surgery.
According to the cosmetically-enhanced model from the Ukraine, there are less beautiful women in the world because we have turn to mixing ourselves up, which has led to increase demand for plastic surgery.
Sometimes you may be call a FOOL for being honest, especially when money is involved but that did not ‘corrupt’ the mind of a desperate man who returned GH₵2,500 he found in a taxi to its owner…
In fact, his honesty and selfless action has fetched him a house and 4 jobs. The once unemployed man has a new worry now, which among the 4 jobs he should settle for…
It is refreshing to know that we still have some honest people among us–despite the economic hardship!
The jobless young man who badly needed GH₵800 to pay rent or face ejection but was honest enough to return a cash of GH₵2,500 abandoned in a taxi to its owner, is to become a home owner.
Collins Arhin, 35, is to own a three-bedroom self-contained house on the plot of land gifted him by estates company, Real Plan Estates, and has made the initial deposit for construction works to start.
The deposit of GH₵5,000 came from the many cash gifts that flowed his way following his courageous and kind act which saw his best friends write him off as a fool destined to live as a wretch.
The first question I asked myself after reading this is; what is the age of criminal responsibility in Pakistan? How can an infant of only 9 months be accused of murder and be brought to court?
So what will happen if the infant is found guilty with the others? Will the infant be thrown into prison?
If today was April 1st, I would have said this is a prank since it is beyond ridiculous!
A nine-month-old boy has appeared in court in Pakistan on charges of planning a murder, threatening police and interfering in state affairs, it appears.
Baby Muhammad Mosa Khan is one of more than 30 people facing charges after a police raid to catch suspected gas thieves in the city of Lahore, The News website reports. Police say the suspects tried to murder security officers by pelting them with stones. But the Times of India newspaper quotes the infant’s father as saying the group was protesting an electricity shortage.
The infant appeared in the courtroom sitting on his father’s lap – who is also accused – and clasping a feeder. He was given bail and the case has been adjourned until 12 April, reports from Lahore say.
Ella-Anne Birchenough, 16, from the UK got an experience of her life when she found herself up to her neck stuck in a gutter while trying to retrieve her mobile phone from the gutter yesterday…
By mistake, Ella-Anne dropped her iphone down the drain near her home in Dover, Kent and she decided to do what most of us will do—get her gadget back.
She latter found herself stuck in the drain and lucky for her, someone called emergency services and they turn up to her rescue.
It seems the Gay rights debate in Africa will not end any time soon as many people are clutching onto the notion that homosexual activities are putting our African cultural values under attack.
Interestingly, homosexuals were given the right to marry in the UK yesterday—and this came with a lot of joy for both the Gay community and the non-Gay community, as this maps the road to equality and substantial tolerance.
Back in Ghana, we have individuals like the Former Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mike Ocquaye saying, those seeking for Gay rights are satanic threat to our Africa traditional family system—as if the Western world have always had Gays as part of their traditional family system.
Former Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mike Ocquaye has warned that Africa’s traditional family system is under threat from gay promoters from the West.
“We consider this an abomination. We don’t want a moustache man marrying another bearded man and it is the right of the children to call a man father and a woman mother. Children brought up in the other way will become what we call miscreants,” the history professor told an antigay forum in Accra.
He said: “Indeed the family is under satanic attack and we should take great care to protect it,” adding that: “We Africans have certain values and our friends who want remain our friends in the Western world must respect our values.”
I am publishing this because I attended Adisadel College, the best Secondary School in Ghana— it was but don’t know about now.
According to a report by Daily Graphic, Adisadel College placed 7th while The Mount Carmel Girls’ Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo Region topped the 2013 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) by scoring 100 per cent in the examination.
What has really changed in Ghana?
Interestingly, top schools including Mfantsipim School, Aburi Girls’ SHS, Presbyterian Boys’ SHS, Prempeh College, Accra Academy and Achimota School placed 39th 44th, 52nd, 54th, 59th and 78th respectively out of 716 schools.
I thought Adisadel was slacking but when I saw Mfantisipim, Presec and others’ position, I was forced to laugh…
It seems the past glory has shockingly washed away, meaning the old top schools are being relegated to the background.
And if you care to know, I had a damn distinction in SSCE (now WASSCE) when I was at Adisadel College) and my Electives were Geography (A), Economics (A), Government (A) and Elective Mathematics (not A)…
The Mount Carmel Girls’ Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo Region topped the 2013 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) by scoring 100 per cent in the examination.
The school was followed by Wesley Girls’ Senior High in Cape Coast which had 99.60 per cent and the Tepa Senior High School, with 99.55 per cent placed third.
According to the rankings compiled by the Statistics, Research, Information, Management and Public Relations (SRIMPR) Division of the Ministry of Education, all the 56 candidates presented by the Mount Carmel SHS had between A1 and C6, giving the school a 100 per cent score.
Personally, I do not see the sense in anyone jumping into a discourse with someone like Dencia, who has relegated morals to the background and feels she does not owe anyone anything—except to make some money for herself.
Again, I do not see the sense in giant media outlets like the BBC inviting Dencia over for conversations over her Whitenicious ‘bleaching’ cream, expecting that she will openly admit she is selling a full skin lightening cream.
Increasingly, we are giving her and her product an underserving attention and eventually, she will be able to reach out to some already low esteem black folks who will see her as a Messiah—hoping a change of complexion will make them feel better.
Dencia’s arguments are aggressively nonsense and I feel those questioning her or engaging in conversation with her are letting her loose…
The role model argument does not work for corrupted minds like Dencia, what actually works is to stand up against her with scientific/factual findings on the effects of the chemicals used in the cream—and then she will have nothing to say.
Anyway, Dencia was on Channel 4 last night and the BBC Focus on Africa to defend her Whitenicious bleaching cream…
We hardly hear of female paedophiles but that does not mean such ‘evil’ trait does not dwell in women too. How on earth can people be subjecting children to such sexual atrocities?
A British woman-Loren Morris, 21 has been jailed for 2 years for sexual offences against a child and it is being reported that, Loren was 16 when she first slept with the schoolboy, who cannot be identified, and continued assaulting the boy until he was ten years old.
A female paedophile has been jailed for having sex with an eight-year-old boy more than fifty times.
Loren Morris, 21, was 16 when she first slept with the schoolboy, who cannot be identified, and continued until he was ten years old.
Morris, who has a child of her own, would have regular intercourse with the boy, now 14, and was only found out after he was overheard bragging about it at school.
A judge today gave Morris a two-year prison sentence at Worcester Crown Court, following a trial last month where she was convicted of three counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 16.
