Meet Papa Staunch: That Talented Musician Raising the Flag of Ghana High In A Foreign Land

Although far away from home, he’s raising the flag of Ghana high in the United States of America through music. His name is Papa Staunch (real name George Oteng – Mensah) – a Ghanaian born rapper, singer and an exceptional song writer who truly understands the art of music.

He began singing at a very tender age at Oseikrom, a suburb in Kumasi where he was widely known for his distinctive voice.

Papa Staunch rose quickly in ranks in the music industry due to how dynamic and unique he was. As the saying goes; “A child who washes his hands clean enough gets to dine conveniently with the elders” and so is the case of Papa Staunch, who is currently working with top musicians like Tinny because of his immense talent.

After a few gigs, he migrated to the USA. Since then, he has been performing on quite a number of stages including African events that take place in the States.

As a rapper, Staunch takes inspiration from experienced rappers like French Montana, Rick Ross, Obrafour, Sarkodie, and Tinny.

Just like any other upcoming rap artiste, Papa Staunched is not immune to challenges. It is the wish of any musician to penetrate through his target market but what remains the biggest challenge for Papa Staunch is promoting his songs in Ghana since he resides in the States.

Who has read the news saying fuel prices are bound to rise again in Ghana next week?

I bet everyone with a car knows this.

The Djamefe report concerning the world cup fiasco has also been released. Have many heads have rolled? No. Probably will not ever.

Has anyone been held accountable for the floods and fire disaster? No man. Not in Ghana. It was a natural disaster, an act of God so guess what? Nobody is responsible for that. We are merely waiting for a similar occurrence next year as has always been.

Have the residents of old fadama been properly settled? Do we not know that once you look on unconcerned while squatters occupy a land for many years, it automatically legally becomes theirs? And you have to resettle them if you suddenly decide you want the land back. Besides their squatting was as a result of a housing deficit which again is nobody’s fault because THIS IS GHANA! Home of roman dead goats J

I could go on about the woes of Ghana but what does it serve when half of Ghanaians are out screaming fire and brimstone upon the gay community. Indeed the world is coming to an end because America said yes to love marriages.

I have read people ignorantly rant about how this compares to legalizing pedophilia. How utterly dense that fully educated humans want to compare legalizing the union of two consenting adults to violence and underage molestation. Children are not even allowed to have regular sex but you will make such a drastic comparison because you are so desperately moronic?

And then there are the doomsday prophets who are clogging social media with their half-baked Christianity calling curses and doom upon all gay people and gay advocates including the Supreme Court of a country they long to relocate to.

Our children are still dying of cholera, our currency is gone to the dogs, our economic policies are a mess, we cannot afford a decent standard of living, HIV is high among our youth, the lights are still off in our bedrooms and kitchens but we are calling God’s wrath on America? You think the world is coming to an end my Ghanaian Christian brother? THE WORLD ALREADY ENDED IN GHANA-maybe Africa.

According to reports coming in from Kumasi, one person has died and several others displaced at Aboaba Number One in Kumasi—following a heavy rainfall last night. Several properties have also been destroyed…

To understand the feud between movie-producer/director-Socrate Sarfo and Hiplife artiste-Tinny, let’s give you the background.

It all started a few months ago in the studios of Peace Fm where Tinny was a guest artiste on the station’s Entertainment Review to promote his then new release ‘Badder Than Them.’ During an interview with the artiste, Socrate Sarfo who was a panel member threw out comments the musician disdained.

The near fight situation was controlled but before that, Tinny also threw several punches the way of Socrate Sarfo—calling him a failed movie maker, just as Socrate Sarfo trashed his song.

A few days later, Tinny released another single solely dedicated to the film-maker, calling him all manner of names.

President Obama’s Brother-Malik Abongo ‘Roy’ Obama Sells A Revealing Handwritten Letter From the President

Though the amount President Obama’s half-brother-Malik Abongo “Roy” Obama sold this handwritten letter for is yet unknown—what is known is that a letter the president of United States penned about 20 years ago which revealed certain important personal ambition details have been sold by the brother.

In the said letter, Obama makes it clear his ambition and the reason why he was going into politics and this includes “to deal with some serious issues blacks face here.”

Obama wrote then that;

“Some colleagues of mine here have talked me into running for the Illinois State Senate (like being an MP for a province),” the future world leader wrote his kin in July 1995, before his political career began. “I have agreed, since I have an interest in politics to deal with some serious issues blacks face here.”

Not just that, the letter also reveals Obama’s dislike for meetings, saying, “Of course, it involves a lot of campaigning, going to meetings and so on, which I don’t find so attractive.” He adds, “Anyway, if I win it will only be a part-time post, and I will continue my work as a lawyer.”

This handwritten letter was reportedly sold by Malik as a package with a copy of a manuscript of Obama’s first book, “Dreams From My Father,” with handwritten notes. And it also gives an update on First Lady Michelle and his late mother, who died later that year.
