A GoFundMe fundraiser for 17-year-old Bella Trezza who suffered life-threatening injuries in the West Babylon car crash that killed Ryan Goot and Michael Desmond, has raised over $100,000 for the Trezza family.
Bella and her brother Austin were both injured in the crash but while Austin is on the road to recovery, Bella remains in critical condition and is far from guaranteed to make a full recovery.
One teen was killed and four others injured during a devastating car crash in West Babylon, New York, on Saturday, September 21st, 2024.
According to reports, Michael Desmond, 33, was traveling on Railroad Avenue in West Babylon after 1 a.m. on Saturday when he blew past a red light and crashed into a car on Great East Neck Road carrying five teenagers.
Desmond died from the collision as did 18-year-old Ryan Goot, one of the teenagers in the second car.

Bella Trezza was driving that car and appeared to have suffered the most serious life-threatening injuries. The other teens in the car included her brother Austin Trezza, 18, Jack Murphy, 18, and Anthony Pagliuca, 16, all remain hospitalized.
Gina DellaMonica-Giaccheto, of West Babylon, started a GoFundMe fundraiser to raise money for Bella and her brother Austin Trezza. According to her, Bella had gone to pick up Austin and some friends from a party and were returning home when the crash occurred. Austin is in stable condition after a few surgeries but Bella’s condition is truly desperate.
Bella suffered severe brain trauma in the crash and has lost her spleen, copious amounts of blood and broken an uncountable number of bones in her body. Her chances for survival are grim, leaving her parents Jay and Kelly completely devastated.
To help the Trezza family navigate this difficult period, the fundraiser was set up. As at the time of publication, it had raised $115,448 out of its $150,000 goal. You can donate to the Trezza family here.
