Siasem- Wode Maya Fights Dirty With Okatakyie Afrifa

Known to be the biggest YouTuber and influencer in Ghana, Wode Maya has clapped back at controversial media personality, Okatakyie Afrifa.

It all started when Wode Maya in January posted a video of himself on TikTok where he was narrating how the Ashantis used to sell other Ghanaians during the slave trade.

One could hear Wode Maya saying “When you talk about the transatlantic slavery, people think the people that were taken to the Caribbean were mostly the Ashantis. No, it was rather the Ashantis that were capturing people from the north of Ghana”.

The video became a topic of online discussion that some Ashantis were not cool with how Wode Maya “denigrated” them.

Speaking on the recent episode of his “For The Records” show, Okatakyie Afrifa lambasted Wode Maya for making an appearance at Manhyia Palace after he had denigrated the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu and Ashantis.

According to Okatakyie Afrifa, Ashantis are so peaceful that the sweep certain comments under the canopy, stating that if it were to be a different tribe, they would have slapped sense into the influencer after he went to Manhyia Palace.

In his reply, Wode Maya denied denigrating Ashantis and asked that anyone who thinks he did that should go and read about the slave trade and come back for a conversation.

“When did I insult Ashantis? Read about slave history and let’s talk bro”, Wode Maya wrote on Twitter.

In another post, Wode Maya claimed that “No Asante blogger or vlogger has showcased the rich Asante culture and the beauty of Kumasi more than Wode Maya”.

Wode Maya believes that many bloggers and vloggers envy him and wish they were like him, adding that, it is the reason they are trying to drag him unnecessarily.

“Let’s be real! Deep down, you all wish to be like Wode Maya. Siaaasem”, the biggest YouTuber wrote on his official X, formerly Twitter page.

Meanwhile, Okayakyie Africa is yet to respond to Wode Maya.
