The manager of deceased highlife musician, Dada KD, has revealed that he was found unconscious at home and transported to three different hospitals before a physician could be found to treat him.
Speaking on the ‘Entertainment Review’ show on Peace 104.3 FM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, Dada KD’s manager, identified as King Pee, said an associate at the musician’s Dansoman home found him unconscious and called a taxi driver who lived nearby to help transport him to the hospital for treatment.
He said the attempt was frustrating as they visited two hospitals without finding a doctor, and only found a doctor at the Gbawe Hospital, where Dada KD was pronounced dead.
“A lady who helps him at home heard he fell down and rushed to the room to find him unconscious and unresponsive,” King Pee told veteran journalist Kwesi Aboagye. “So she called a taxi driver who usually transports Dada KD around when his car isn’t working ,and they rushed him to the hospital. They had to visit three hospitals before they found a doctor at the last hospital, which was the Gbawe Government Hospital.”

Kwesi Aboagye further queried King Pee on why the musician was not transported to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Ghana’s premier medical facility, which is only a few kilometres from his home, but was rather transported to other medical facilities and ended up at Gbawe, which is much further away from Dansoman than Korle-Bu.
According to him, the taxi driver and Dada KD’s aide wanted to send him to a private facility due to him being a public figure, as they feared transporting him to a public facility like Korle-Bu or somewhere else would create a media spectacle.
