U.S.-based Ghanaian political commentator Twene Jonas called for the President, John Dramani Mahama, to suspend the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Gold Board (Goldbod), Sammy Gyamfi, in the wake of his money-sharing scandal.
Jonas, in a video shared via social media, said Gyamfi’s conduct is corrupt and he should be suspended in the same vein that the President suspended the Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkonoo, for alleged improper conduct.
The New York-based social media creator has long railed against the President’s decision to suspend the Chief Justice, describing it as a needless abuse of power. He gave the President a Tuesday, May 13, 2025, ultimatum to suspend Sammy Gyamfi or face his wrath.
“John Mahama….if you do not suspend Sammy Gyamfi by Tuesday, you and I would have a big problem,” Jonas said. “Because if you have the power to suspend the Chief Justice, using your own discretion without her being convicted by a court, have you ever heard of a President adjudicating a case before?”
Jonas also opened fire on Sammy Gyamfi, wondering why he decided to waste money on Nana Agradaa, a known fraudster, rather than helping young people in the country to set up their own businesses.
“That $10,000 you gave to Agradaa, the best use for it should have been as a gift to unemployed young Ghanaians. You give them that money to start their life, that is the right thing to do. You don’t give that money to a fetish priestess who duped and robbed people to become a rich woman,” he fired.
Twene Jonas has in recent days attacked President John Dramani Mahama over his handling of the Chief Justice’s potential removal.

In several ‘warm-up’ videos shared on his Twene Jonas YouTube page, the political commentator called the move by the President an excessive abuse of power. He argued that Mahama was elected to fix issues such as the economy, dumsor, and galamsey, and he should concentrate on those issues rather than on the removal of the head of another branch of government.
Sammy Gyamfi in trouble over Agradaa gift
As we previously reported, Sammy Gyamfi has been embroiled in a scandal after gifting Evangelist Patricia Asiedu, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, a sum of several dollar bills following a chance encounter between the two.
In a video of the moment that surfaced online, Gyamfi was spotted entering his car to count out some dollars to give to Agradaa, who had a paparazzi recording the encounter and sharing it online.
The video of Gyamfi splashing cash, particularly dollars, on Agradaa sparked an online furore, especially in light of the NDC’s attacks on the NPP for wasting taxpayer money during their time in office.
Numerous calls were made for Gyamfi to be fired for flashing wealth, following which the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, summoned him to the Presidency. However, a final decision on what punishment, if any, Gyamfi receives from the Presidency has not been made public.
