Media personality turned Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Tourism Authority, Abeiku Santana has refuted claims by former deputy CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, Mark Okraku Mantey that he is still into journalism despite his appointment.

Speaking in an interview on Joy FM, Mark Okraku Mantey stated that Abeiku Santana is breaching the rules and regulations of the Public Services Commission.

Mark Okraku Mantey questioned why Abeiku Santana would still be working as a media personality at Despite Media after being appointed as the deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority.

He questioned, “Why is Abeiku Santana going on air, holding a public office, and still working at Okay FM”.

He added that “Abeiku Santa works for the Ghana Tourism Authority, a public office, and is using office hours to work at Okay FM. It is not acceptable, it is not”.

In response to this, Abeiku Santana has said that there is no iota of truth in the claims by Mark Okraku Mantey.

Abeiku Santana in a post on Facebook sighted by Ghana Celebrities stated that following his appointment, he no longer works at Despite Media.

He has therefore stated that such claims are false and misleading and, hence, should be swept under the canopy as soon as possible.

“I wish to categorically state that the recent claim made by Mr. Mark Okraku Mantey, alleging that I am still actively engaged in radio broadcasting despite my government appointment is entirely false and misleading”.

Meanwhile, Mark Okraku Mantey stated that no Ghanaian should drag Hon. kojo Oppong Nkrumah into the issue because his case is a different one.

According to him, “Someone might mention Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, but Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah left Joy FM years ago, stayed home, ran his private business and only then entered into politics. But today, you see some people leaving media houses and immediately taking up positions”.
