Ghana’s Economy Will Collapse Without Asantes – BigScout Nana Prempeh

Ghanaian vlogger and content creator based in Canada, Bigscout Nana Prempeh, bragged about the power of the Asante people, claiming Ghana’s economy would not survive without them.

Bigscout, in a recent interview,w said the conflict currently ravaging Bawku has no effect on Ghana’s economy but if it were happening in the Ashanti Region, Ghana’s economy would grind to a halt.

He said the impact of the Ashanti people on Ghana is so great that the country will not see any development or progress without the Asantes.

“If Asantes were engaged in a conflict, Ghana’s economy will break down,” Bigscout said. “We hold the nation’s development and economy in our hands. Aren’t they fighting in Bawku? Yet it has no effect on Ghana’s economy. No one cares. But imagine that conflict is in the Ashanti Region? Like the whole country would shut down,”

Bigscout claimed the influence even extends to politics, claiming no election in Ghana can be won without the Ashanti vote. He asserted that the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, led by President John Dramani Mahama, only won the elections because it received a bigger share of the Ashanti vote.

He added that Ashantis are often seen as arrogant and discriminatory, yet they rather show love to people more than any other tribe. He sighted the presence of suburbs in Kumasi that are dominated by people from other tribes.
