Shatta Wale Throws Stark Warning at Richard Nii Armah Quaye

Self-proclaimed Ghanaian dancehall king, Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale, fired a series of warning shots at billionaire Ghanaian businessman and his namesake, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, as he kicked off a feud that has left most Ghanaians confused.

Wale, in a litany of posts shared across his social media handles, warned the Bill MicroCredit Founder to steer clear of him if he does not want any trouble.

Shatta Wale kicked off his array of warnings to Mr Quaye in a Facebook post in which he warned him about certain unspecified actions he claims the businessman is taking against him.

Wale warned him that whatever those actions are – which were not spelt out for the public to be aware of – Quaye should desist from them if he does not want to face the legendary wrath of Shatta Wale.

He said: “#RNAQ what you are trying to do to me you won’t win so stop it..Otherwise when I flip…” Wale shared the same posts on his Twitter and Snapchat handles to gain more visibility.

In a follow-up Snapchat post, Wale promised to take on Quaye once the ongoing drama between ‘AM & SB’, or Ayisha Modi and Stonebwoy, comes to an end. He moaned abot ‘businessmen trying to be celebrities’ and ominously warned Quaye that if he wants to enter his arena, he should be prepared because he will not hold back.

“Businessmen that want to be celebrities on social media,” Wale fumed. “No worry at all…once u wan enter my playground…ade,”

He ended his rants with another jab at the businessman, calling him a ‘donkey’ who thinks he’s a ‘lion’ due to receiving too much attention. At the moment, it remains unclear what Shatta Wale is accusing Quaye of other than some form of sabotage. Quaye has yet to respond to any of these provocations.

Shatta Wale was one of the very few Ghanaian a-list artists who were absent during the recently held 40th birthday celebrations for Mr Quaye.

Quaye threw an extravagant party that had the crème de la crème of the Ghanaian showbiz world in attendance.

A-list foreign stars such as Davido, Diamond Platnumz, Rita Dominic, Ini Edo and others, all turned up, alongside Ghanaian stars such as Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Efya and a host of others. Conspicuously missing was Shatta Wale.

Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, later claimed the artist did not attend the party because their values did not align with Mr Quaye’s. Reporting indicated the real reason was a failure to agree on a financial package suitable to Wale, who notoriously charges high fees for appearances. Mr Quaye later said he paid no artist to perform at the show, and all their appearances were a favour to him due to his prior relationships with them.
