I’ve Never Seen A Doctor With BBL – Yvonne Nelson and Akrobeto Discuss Body Enhancements

Actress Yvonne Nelson and veteran actor turned television host Akwasi Boadi ‘Akrobeto’ discussed the dangers of the body enhancement trend sweeping Ghanaian popular culture.

Speaking in a telephone conversation during the most recent episode of Akrobeto’s ‘Real News’ show, Nelson gave a plethora of reasons why body enhancements are not for her, including the fact that she’s never seen a doctor who has themselves undergone body enhancements.

Yvonne said if the procedures are as good and harmless as people make them out to be, then cosmetic surgery doctors would all undergo their own procedures, but in Ms. Nelson’s words, “I’ve never seen a doctor with BBL!”

She told Akrobeto, “When you talk to medical professionals, they tell you this is not advisable. Even the doctors who carry out these procedures for people, check if they have done the procedure themselves”? Nelson continued that she feels naturally suspicious that a doctor will be carrying out such a procedure and have ‘defective’ body parts that they don’t fix with surgery.

Nelson listed a plethora of more reasons she is against women undergoing such enhancement surgeries, including seeking to serve as a good role model to her daughter and students (Nelson owns a school) and possible medical complications from the surgery.

“I want to serve as a good role model to my daughter and students. So for me to undergo surgery [will not happen]. I will keep my God-given body as it is,” Nelson continued. She said her daughter is already talking and asking so many questions, and she’s not prepared to answer if she’s asked why she had a flat backside years ago and now has an inflated one!

Akrobeto humorously asked Nelson if he should go for rhinoplasty considering his famously large nose. Yvonne asked him to keep it as it is, ending the interview on a lovely note as the comic actor expressed joy at her embrace of his ‘defect.’
