Ghanaian songstress Mzbel has exposed her former best friend, entertainer and actor Emil Woode, popularly known as Nana Tonardo.
Mzbel, speaking in an interview with Ghanaian blogger Sammykay, revealed that her former friend engages in money laundering, claiming she heard it from the ‘horse’s own mouth.’
Mzbel, born Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, alleged that if she decides to publicly reveal more details about what she knows about Tornado, he will end up in jail.
The ‘Awoso Me’ hitmaker made all these revelations as she revealed the reason why her friendship with Tonardo failed.
Mzbel said their friendship was too toxic and she was unhappy but did not know how to cut Woode off. The veteran singer said she was overjoyed when Tonardo started badmouthing her publicly, not knowing he was giving her the opening she needed to distance herself from him.
“He went on social media to allege I slept with an employee or that an employee impregnated me,” Mzbel said in Twi, referring to Tonardo’s attacks on her that precipitated the end of their friendship. Asked if the allegations were true or untrue, Mzbel said even if true, a supposed ‘friend’ is not supposed to sell her out.
“After publicly badmouthing me, how are we supposed to remain friends?” Mzbel said. “Honestly, I was happy he did that because I was looking for an opportunity to cut him off. Our friendship was too toxic, so when he came out to say all that, I just thanked God for giving me an opportunity to end our friendship.”
Mzbel described their friendship as overbearing, comparing it to drowning underwater. She added that while she was happy Tonardo badmouthed her, she was surprised he did that because she posseses knowledge of secrets of his that could get him jailed.
Mzbel and Nana Tonardo, former friends turned mutual enemies of controversial comedienne, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa aka Afia Schwarzenegger, started a bromance that was short-lived. After prancing around as friends for months, they had a falling out that spilled into the public sphere with Tonardo badmouthing Mzbel in some interviews.
