Stop Badmouthing Aggrey Memorial Before We Start Revealing Your Secrets – Yvonne Nelson’s Former Classmate Calls Her Out

Actress Yvonne Nelson has been warned by a former colleague classmate at Aggrey Memorial AME Zion Senior High School (SHS) to refrain from badmouthing their alma mater in interviews.

Quame Owusu, writing on Facebook, alleged that Yvonne Nelson engaged in a lot of vices during her school days that were swept under the rug but would be revealed if she continues on her path of dragging the school’s reputation down.

“Dear YVONNE NELSON, for those of us who know you very well, this is the last time we’ll take this from you. Take the school that gave you the exposure out of your mouth,” Owusu warned in his post. “Maybe we should also talk about the numerous times you sneaked to the guest houses with guyz where you were caught and finally expelled from the boarding house.”

Nelson has consistently described her SHS experience at Aggrey Memorial as torturous, calling out the food they were fed and the corporal punishment teachers constantly inflicted on them.

“Aggrey was challenging for me…it wasn’t the best of places for me. I gave you examples of being scared going to class. There are days you are afraid of going to the class because one teacher is going to beat everybody in the class, so that was not helping,” Nelson told The Career Trail programme on Joy Learning TV and Joy News. “The second thing was hygiene and the quality of food,” she added.

Nelson said she speaks on these issues because she hopes that can lead to change to make things better for the coming generations.

In her book, I Am Not Yvonne Nelson, and on various other platforms, Yvonne has maintained her stance that her SHS did not help her in any way.

During other portions of her Career Trail interview, Nelson said Aggrey Memorial was not her choice but was forced on her because her stepfather was a PTA chairman at the school at that time.

The actress also lamented being forced to study Accounting, which she had no flair for, particularly paired with the fact that teachers were not helping her to understand the subject but rather resorted to intimidation and beating.

Her comments also riled up a former teacher, Eric Damtse, who said Nelson’s own stubbornness and disrespectful attitude led to her ‘bad’ SHS experience. Other former colleagues chimed in, claiming she was suspended over 3 times and was sacked from the boarding house due to her constant run-ins with authorities.
