Mental Slavery – Bishop Obinim’s Congregation Applauds as He Slashes Price of Ghc 1,000 ‘Special’ Anointing Oil to ‘ONLY’ Ghc 100

Ghanaian man of God, Bishop Daniel Obinim, received a round of applause from his enthralled church members after announcing that his special green-coloured anointing oil with special powers that he sells for Ghc 1,000 is being reduced to Ghc 100 to enable all church members to afford it.

Obinim, in a video that sparked genuine conversations on social media about the effects of religion on people, is heard speaking about tiers of special anointing oils that he sells to his church members, each of which brings a certain level of blessing to the buyer based on how much they pay for the oil.

The controversial preacher said the oil that goes for Ghc 1,000, which bestows the buyer with the highest tier of blessings, is green coloured. The 2nd highest tier, going for Ghc 500, is red coloured, while the least blessed oil, which goes for Ghc 200, is blue coloured.

Obinim then announced that at an upcoming anointing service, the most expensive and blessed oil will be sold at a massive discount of Ghc 100 to enable all church members the chance to purchase it.

“At the upcoming anointing service, I want to give each one of you church members the chance to have the Ghc 1,000 anointing oil,” Obinim said to his congregation, speaking in the Twi dialect. “So I will reduce the price to Ghc 100,” Obinim said to widespread applause, while his deputy said ‘wow’ into his microphone.

“So you will not be getting the Ghc 200 blue-coloured oil or the Ghc 500 yellow one. You will each be getting the [special] Ghc 1,000 green one. Amen,” he said.

Obinim’s marketing masterclass sparked a conversation on social media, with many lamenting the hold pastors such as himself have on their congregation, especially older women. “Religion is the reason we are here now; our moms are locked up with mental slavery,” one user on social media lamented.

Bishop ‘Angel’ Daniel Obinim has been a controversial man of God since the start of his career, with claims of having supernatural powers that were widely ridiculed by the general public but were held as articles of faith by his congregation. Obinim claimed he was a literal angel and could fly to heaven at any time.

He claimed powers of transformation into animals, including lions, snakes, etc. In a sobering moment years later, Obinim admitted making up some of those claims to boost his popularity.
