A Level 400, final-year student of the University of Ghana, Legon, has died. Horlali Wisdom, studying for a degree in Education, died in a motor vehicle collision, according to the Voice of Legon X account.
Voice of Legon, which reports on notable news stories involving students of Ghana’s premiere University, broke the news of Wisdom’s death in a tweet shared on the evening of Thursday, April 10, 2025.
A statement from the publication read: “We regret to announce the tragic passing of Horlali Wisdom, a Level 400 Education student at the University of Ghana, who lost his life in a car accident,” they began.
Voice of Legon added: “Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends and all who knew him,”
It’s currently unclear what led to the crash that took the life of the final-year student. Neither the University of Ghana nor the affected family have released any statement addressing the incident.
Wisdom’s death comes less than a year after another Legon student, final-year accounting student Jeroon, died two weeks prior to completing her studies. Jeroon died after a short illness, Adomonline reported at the time, noting she was a vibrant member of the campus community and engaged in evangelism.
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology also faced a similar tragedy in recent months. Joana Yabani Deladem, a final-year student, was found murdered in the early hours of February 27th near the school’s Disability and Rehabilitation Centre. Joana’s boyfriend, Daniel Tufuor, was arrested and charged with her death. The late student, who is survived by her parents and eight siblings, was laid to rest at the Jehovah Shammah Assemblies of God Church at New Ashongman on April 5.
