Ghanaians have taken to social media to complain after the Minister-designate for Communications, Honourable Sam Nartey George, announced another Sim registration exercise would be carried out once he’s in office.
George, the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, said the previous exercise held by the NPP government was haphazardly carried out, devoid of any common sense or logic, and was simply an act of wickedness imposed on the good people of Ghana.
Nevertheless, George promised another round of registration would be carried out but this time in an orderly fashion and with the efficient and effective use of technology to ensure that Ghanaians are not unnecessarily burdened.
He made these comments before Parliament’s Appointment Committee.
“We will do a proper SIM re-registration again, but this time nobody’s going to queue because common sense will prevail, expertise will prevail, and logic will work,” he said.

Despite his promises, Ghanaians were not particularly enthused about having to go through another SIM registration exercise after the previous one just over two years ago.
“Another sim registration again ei is that what Ghanaians voted for ?” one netizen queried on social media.
