Ghanaian music group DopeNation are in the crosshairs of angry fans after taking a swipe at Kuami Eugene, who they accused of stealing songs from others.
The music duo and Eugene have a beef currently ongoing after the confirmation of Eugene’s departure from Lynx Entertainment.
DopeNation took a shot at Kuami Eugene after that news emerged, and the ‘Monica’ hitmaker did not take it lying down, also firing back at the twins.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Eugene mocked the DopeNation twins, calling them ‘attention seekers’. He called their discography of respectable hits as ‘gym songs’ and said he will be dropping a proper song in the coming days hence they should pay attention to him and learn from him.
DopeNation did not mince words in their reply to Eugene, slamming him for being a ‘song-thief’, a long-held conventional wisdom in Ghanaian music circles due to numerous song-writers calling Eugene out for appropriating their lyrics, melodies or beats without permission.
