Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare’s potential appointment as Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts is an exciting prospect, given her impressive background and experience in the field, according to Ruthy on Nhyira FM Entertainment Power show.

As a lawyer and politician, Ofosu-Agyare has already demonstrated her capabilities in this role, having served as Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts from 2013 to 2017.¹ During her tenure, she introduced innovative tourism programs, restructured the National Festival for Arts & Culture, and launched the ExploreGhana project, which significantly boosted domestic tourism.

Her achievements in the tourism sector are noteworthy, with tourist arrivals increasing from 821,200 in 2011 to 903,300 in 2012, and corresponding receipts rising from $1.55 trillion to $1.7 trillion.

She has also been instrumental in promoting Ghana’s tourism industry globally, highlighting its natural parks, forest reserves, beautiful lakes, and rich cultural heritage.

Therefore, Ruthy’s suggestion that President John Mahama should appoint Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare as the new minister is well-founded, considering her past achievements and dedication to promoting Ghana’s tourism and creative arts sectors.

Currently, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare serves as the Member of Parliament for the good people of Techiman North.
