Lapel Truck and Trailer Repair Owner, Chad Pilkington Killed in Accident

The owner of a Lapel IN truck and trailer repair shop has died, friends in the know have said in several tributes shared online.

Chad Pilkington died in an accident, ‘old friend’ Danny Stone revealed in a social media post. Details of the said accident have not been released. Reports of a snowmobile accident have not been confirmed by his family, who are also yet to announce funeral arrangements.

Pilkington attended Lapel High School before joining Frankton Junior-Senior High School. He graduated Vincennes University in 1994 and worked as a mechanic for two decades before starting his own business. Chad leaves behind his wife Laura (m 2015) and kids.

Pilkington owned the Lapel Truck & Trailer auto repair shop, located at 310 W 11th St, Lapel. Mechanics at Lapel Truck & Trailer provide services including truck repair, trailer repair, tire repair, oil changes & lubes and welding. The business has been running for close to two decades (opened 2007) and has strong ties to the local community, with many stating how Pilkington would be missed.

“He (Chad) is very well known [in Lapel],” local resident Stacy Pauley said of his passing. “[His death is a] big loss for his family and community,”
