‘Rest Easy Brother’ – Family Mourns Unexpected Death of Coldsprings Welder/Fabricator Chance Stone

A Texas family are mourning the unexpected death of relative Chance Stone in a car accident, remembering him as a man with a heart of gold.

Stone, of Coldsprings TX, was a Welder at ACE/Gaffey. He died in a car accident late Thursday, January 9, 2025, while on the way home from work. He was just 27.

Chance, originally from Deer Park, had graduated from Deer Park High School in 2014. He was born to Bart and Wanda Stone in 1997. He was the last of three kids of the couple, born after Jordan and Samantha Stone. Chance was in a relationship with Meranda McAuliff, having been together since 2018.

Reports of the accient that took his life are scarce. Relatives say Chance was returning from work late Thursday when the accident occurred. It’s unclear if it was a single or multi-vehicle crash or the location at which it occurred. No details are available on other possible casualties.

Friends remembered Chance for being a great sport and a treat to hang around with.

“Rest easy brother. Gonna miss the good times we had Chance Stone,” Josh Bush said in reaction to the news.
