Supposed NDC supporters stormed the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority, and other public institutions in Tema, including TDC Ghana Ltd, Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), and Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO), demanding that top managers appointed by the previous government step down.

Supposed NDC supporters stormed the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority, demanding that the boss step down because their party is no longer in power. The protesters argued that appointees of the previous government should not remain in office.

During the protest, some of the youth locked up offices. One of the protesters, Kwame Dankwa, explained their grievances, saying, “We do not want any appointee of the previous administration to remain in office.” He also issued a warning, stating, “As you can see, we didn’t cause any commotion. We don’t have any problem with anybody. We came here to perform a task. However, if we come back or get information that they are doing something different, that will be a different story.”

The demonstration caused chaos, with arguments breaking out between the protesters and staff. Some workers were forced to flee their offices for safety.

Fortunately, the Tema Regional Police Command arrived in time to prevent the situation from escalating. Their intervention ensured that no physical assaults occurred and order was restored.
