Outspoken politician and former NPP parliamentary candidate, Hopeson Adorye, has alleged that some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are plotting to sabotage President John Dramani Mahama’s upcoming administration with power outages, popularly known as “dumsor.”
According to Adorye, such plans will fail, as the people of Ghana are tired of political gamesmanship.
Speaking during an interview with Mugabe Maase on TV XYZ, Adorye did not mince words about his party’s alleged strategy to undermine the anticipated leadership of John Mahama.
He claimed that a faction within the NPP is intent on creating challenges during Mahama’s tenure, specifically through dumsor crises, to make his government appear ineffective.
“Some NPP members want to sabotage Mahama’s government by plunging the nation into another dumsor crisis. But their plans will fail miserably. Ghanaians are now awake and will not tolerate such political gimmicks anymore,” Adorye stated firmly.
He further hinted that he is ready to take a stand against any form of sabotage, even if it means clashing with his party members. “After three months of Mahama being in power, if I hear any NPP member complain about the state of affairs, I will personally deal with them ruthlessly,” he vowed.
Adorye also addressed his loyalty to his boss, Alan Kyerematen, who recently resigned from the NPP and is charting his own political path. According to Adorye, if Kyerematen chooses to support Mahama’s government with his ideas, he will also throw his full weight behind such a move.
“If Alan decides to share his ideas with Mahama’s administration to support Ghana’s development, I will gladly support him. It’s about Ghana’s progress, not petty party politics,” he said.
