Controversial Ghanaian man of God, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has addressed a viral video that sparked widespread speculation about his alleged remarks concerning President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Speaking during a sermon at his church, Prophet Oduro set the record straight, firmly denying that his comments were directed at the President.
The video in question captured Prophet Oduro calling a “Nana” a fool, leading many to conclude that his words were aimed at the sitting President.
However, the man of God clarified that his remarks were intended for traditional chiefs who allow their lands to be destroyed through illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
“I was not referring to President Nana Addo in that video. I have too much respect and admiration for him to insult or mock him,” Prophet Oduro stated emphatically.
Prophet Oduro explained that his strong language was directed at chiefs who have failed in their duty to protect their lands and the environment. He criticised the complicity of traditional leaders in the galamsey menace, which has caused significant harm to Ghana’s natural resources and ecosystems.
In his sermon, Prophet Oduro also touched on the challenges faced by leaders, particularly when surrounded by individuals afraid to speak the truth. He remarked, “The only group of people who don’t like Nana Addo are those closest to him because they are too scared to tell him the truth.
