An Associate Teaching Professor of Accountancy at the Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Eric Marinich, has died.
Marinich passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025. He was 49. No cause of death has been offically listed.
Marinich, from Hamilton OH, was a beloved professor at the Miami University, where he had earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance in 1999. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati in 2008 and then a PhD from Michigan State University in 2003. He then took on a teaching job at his alma mater, the University of Miami Farmer School of Business, a job he has held since 2013.
Students of the late professor shared tributes in his honor, remembering him as one of the best at what he did.
“I’m a current senior at Miami University and was in Dr. Marinich’s accounting class. I’m deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He made a lasting impact on so many students. His dedication to his students and his passion for accounting will never be forgotten,” one memorial read.
