Reverend Eastwood Anaba, the leader of Eastwood Anaba Ministries and founder of Fountain Gate Chapel, has addressed a concern that may explain why some men refuse to go to church. Speaking during his sermon last Sunday, he revealed that certain husbands feel overshadowed by the way their wives treat their pastors compared to how they treat them at home.

According to Reverend Anaba, many wives show extraordinary admiration and respect toward their pastors, often behaving with great humility and reverence. He noted how these women greet their pastors with phrases like, “Oh Daddy, good morning. Daddy, praise the Lord. Daddy, I miss you. Here’s a seed,” acting almost as if they’ve encountered God himself.

In contrast, these same women often fail to extend similar affection or care to their husbands. Reverend Anaba highlighted the frustration this can cause, saying, “The man notices that this morning, his wife didn’t say ‘I miss you,’ even though he just returned from a trip. She didn’t offer him food. But the moment she sees her pastor, it’s like the anointing suddenly falls on her.”

This unequal treatment, he explained, creates a sense of rivalry between husbands and pastors, leaving some men feeling unappreciated and even resentful. Reverend Anaba emphasized that this behavior not only strains marriages but also fosters a dislike for pastors, making it harder for some men to engage with church activities.

His observations have sparked important discussions about the need to balance religious devotion with respect and care within marriage.
