Sad – Police Officer Dies At His Wedding Ceremony In Akyem Anamase

A tragic incident occurred on December 27, 2024, in Akyem Anamase near Oda in Ghana’s Eastern Region, when Chief Inspector Godwin Beniba, a respected police officer, passed away during his wedding.

Chief Inspector Beniba, who served as the Station Officer at the Anamase Police Station, had just arrived at the Anamase Hotel, the wedding venue, accompanied by his best men. He was eagerly waiting for his bride, Florence Debrah, who was preparing in one of the hotel rooms.

Eyewitnesses said the groom complained of dizziness shortly after entering the venue. Before help could arrive, he collapsed. Guests rushed him to the Anamase Clinic, but sadly, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The devastating news left guests in shock, including police officers who had traveled from across the country to celebrate the union. Many were overwhelmed with grief, and the atmosphere of joy quickly turned into one of sorrow. Food and drinks prepared for the occasion went untouched as heartbroken attendees left the venue.

Chief Inspector Beniba’s family, who had reportedly traveled from the Northern Region, arranged for his body to be taken to the Oda Government Hospital morgue for an autopsy and preservation. The Akyem Anamase community has been plunged into mourning, with residents unable to partake in the usual Christmas festivities.

The cause of his sudden death remains unknown, leaving many unanswered questions. This heartbreaking loss has shaken the nation, as the life of a dedicated officer was tragically cut short on what should have been his happiest day.
