A Columbia, South Carolina upcoming rapper and social media creator, Gettit Brown, has died after a car crash following a police chase.
Brown is reported to have shot his girlfriend, took her to hospital and then threatened to go back to her residence and kill hher kids and himself. Authorities managed to intercept him at which point he took the police on a high speed chase. He recorded a Facebook live video during the chase in which he admitted to ‘effing up’ and promised that this is his last day alive.
During the police chase, Gettit Brown ended up crashing around Hazelwood and Garners Ferry Road.
Authorities were able to apprehend him after the crash during which they discovered he had shot himself in the stomach. He was rushed to hospital where he died from his injuries.
The incident
Columbia Police (CPD) officers were called to the Cross Hill Apartments on Blossom Street for a reported domestic incident involving a weapon around 11:00 a.m on Saturday, December 28th.
Upon arrival, officers learned a female had been shot and received a non-life threatening injury. The suspect had left the scene to drive the victim to the hospital.
At the hospital, the suspect, who social media identified as a local Columbia rapper known as Gettit Brown, allegedly threatened to return to the Blossom Street home and harm kids and then himself.
CPD officers and Deputies from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department then commenced a high speed chase with the suspect.
The chase ended in a fiery multi-vehicle crash at Hazelwood and Garners Ferry Road that ultimately led to the death of the suspect. Another man and his dog reportedly also died in the crash.

Gettit Brown had jumped on social media to record a livestream during the car chase in which he essentially announced his plans to not come out of the chase alive. He captioned the video: “Y’all won todays the day I die,”

The video of the moment of the crash also went insanely viral and prompted many reactions.

Many others in the comments were not too kind towards Brown.
“Everyone so worried about HIS life, what about the innocent man and his dog this dude took with him? What about the girlfriend that he also tried to take with him?! Depression is awful but it’s the epitome of evil to harm innocent people,” one comment read.
