Dane Ferguson, Legend in Alaska Snowmobile Community Mourned Following Tragic Death

Dane Ferguson, the President of the Alaska Sno-X Lions Club and a beloved humanitarian who has been helping during the war in Ukraine, has died in a tragic accident.

Details of the incident are scarce but Ferguson’s death was reported by friends in the Anchorage snowmobile community in which he had a massive impact.

Cale Voos took to Facebook to mourn, writing: “The snowmobile community and the world lost a truly amazing man.
Rest in peace, Dane Ferguson. You will always be loved & remembered. I still remember our brief conversations like it was yesterday. Your time and the advice given truly meant the world to me.”

Dane Ferguson was President of the Alaskan Sno-X Lions Club, teaching young people snowmachine safety. Many of those young people looked up to him and were flabbergasted by news of his sudden death.

Michael Beane, of Meadow Lakes Alaska, remembered the positive impact Ferguson had on his life. “RIP Dane Ferguson . You were a role model to us local valley kids and gave us motivation to start riding seriously, to have it take us places, and supported Nine07Racing from the very beginning,” he wrote.

Dane Ferguson leaves behind a wife, Katie and two kids, Kenzie and Brody. He became even more of a local hero when he left Alaska to Ukraine to help in providing humanitarian aid at the outbreak of their war with Russia. Ferguson initially worked with the Lions Clubs International’s anti-human trafficking unit, but after some time began providing aid to those in Ukraine by bringing medical supplies and food to those in need and evacuating civilians at risk.
