President-elect John Dramani Mahama, in his Christmas message, called on Ghanaians to embrace the spirit of hope, unity, and renewal as the nation prepares for a brighter future. He expressed profound gratitude to the people of Ghana for entrusting him with the opportunity to lead as president and commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
“As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and reflect on the values He exemplified, I wish to thank you, the good people of Ghana, for granting me the honour to serve you,” Mahama said, emphasizing the importance of the festive season as a time to come together and work towards shared progress and inclusivity.
Mahama reiterated his vision to build a prosperous nation rooted in freedom, justice, accountability, and equal opportunities for all. He also extended warm holiday wishes, highlighting the need for gratitude and collective effort in shaping a better Ghana.
After a landslide victory in the 2024 elections, which saw the governing New Patriotic Party soundly defeated, Mahama is set to be sworn in on January 7, 2025, to begin his second term as president.
