As President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo gets ready to end his time in office, he is confident that his government’s work will be remembered positively. Speaking at the launch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s Bicentennial Anniversary on December 22, 2024, at Osu Castle, Akufo-Addo expressed pride in his administration’s achievements, despite the recent defeat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections, where Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaigned on his legacy.

“I speak to you proud of the achievements my government has chalked under God’s guidance and the support of our people. From transformative policies in education, health, industry, infrastructure and agriculture, to the promotion of good governance and economic development,” Akufo-Addo stated. He emphasized the social interventions in health, education, and energy that have greatly improved the quality of life for citizens.

While acknowledging the election results, Akufo-Addo remains confident that future generations will recognize and appreciate the work done during his presidency. “I’m confident in all humility, prosperity will judge well the Akufo-Addo government’s performance. Future generations will look back on this era and say that we laid a strong foundation for progress and prosperity,” he said.

He also thanked the Presbyterian Church for its role in national development, especially in education, healthcare, and promoting strong values. Akufo-Addo said their prayers and support helped him through tough times as President.
