Vinh Quang Nguyen, a Milpitas CA real estate professional has been identified as the main suspect in the murder-suicide of an entire family in the Californian neighborhood.

Milpitas Police were called to an apartment located in Turing at the Fields on McCandless Blvd o Tuesday, December 17th, 2024.

Officers went to the apartment for a welfare check after a relative said they hadn’t heard from them in several days. The family reportedly speak to their relatives at least once every few days..

Arriving officers discovered a grisly scene when they discovered all four members of the family – two adults and two kids – all dead from gunshot wounds.

Authorities on Thursday identified the deceased as Vinh Nguyen (36), Betty Pham (36), and their two children (9 and 6) who were all deceased, each by a single gunshot wound.

Officers said Vinh Quang Nguyen, the father, was the major suspect.

“Vinh Nguyen, the father of their two children is believed to be our suspect. A handgun which is legally registered to Vinh was found at the scene,” Lieutenant Tyler Jamison with the Milpitas Police Department said.

The couple were reportedly going through a divorce, according to a medica examiner’s report. A VTA spokesperson revealed both Nguyen and his wife worked for the VTA. The couple had Vietnamese backgrounds.

According to True People Search, Vinh Nguyen was 36 years old and resided in Milpitas. His LinkedIn account identified him as a real estate professional.
