In an interview with Nana Romeo, Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, made a heartfelt appeal to the incoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) government. He urged the government to prioritize the welfare of the citizens and avoid abusing their power. Medikal stressed that the focus should be on making decisions that benefit the people, rather than serving personal interests.
“They should think about the country and the citizens more than themselves. They are coming to work, but they shouldn’t abuse power,” Medikal said. He emphasized that those in power should not feel entitled or supreme but should instead make choices that will have a positive impact on the citizens.
Acknowledging that everyone, including himself, is prone to mistakes, Medikal added, “Nobody is perfect; sometimes I will do something, but I might not be mindful of what I’m doing. At the same time, I’m a human, and I’m bound to make mistakes.” He urged the NDC government to govern with mindfulness and always keep the best interests of the people in mind.
