Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty has reacted to the comments made by fellow artist Evangelist Diana Asamoah regarding the venue for her late mother’s funeral.
Diana Asamoah had advised Empress Gifty against holding the ceremony on any astroturf facilities constructed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), citing political affiliations as a concern.
In a video statement, Asamoah remarked, “I told her to go to her ‘Afrafranto’ party and ask them for an astroturf for the funeral.”
Some of Gifty’s friends from the gospel fraternity paid a visit to her in her home to console her after losing her mother. One of the ladies who visited her jovially mentioned that she was not allowed to organize her mother’s funeral at any astroturf built by the NPP.
Empress Gifty responded with a light-hearted comment while laughing. dismissing the comments and choosing not to engage in a public dispute. As the funeral arrangements proceed, Empress Gifty’s choice of venue remains to be seen.
