Danny Bacher, a young and talented musician, stage actor and comedian, has suddenly and unexpectedly died, leaving friends, family and fans in shock.
Bacher passed away shockingly on Monday, December 16th, 2024, mere days after advertising show for that very day.
The news of his death was announced in social media posts by his best friend, who was completely flabbergasted over the news that Bacher was gone. No cause of death was listed.
“I’m not even sure how to explain this or write this post. None of this seems real none of this seems fair. I lost my one true friend yesterday. Danny Bacher passed away suddenly yesterday and I can’t believe this is real,” Yanni Kaloudis wrote on Facebook. “He’s been my best friend since 1st grade A constant in my life for the last 40 years.”
Another post from Marcus Goldhaber expressed the same shock. “My heart is breaking so hard right now as I just found out that my dear beautiful friend and chosen brother Danny Bacher has tragically passed away,” he said. ” I can’t say enough about how incredible he was and on so many levels. He was an amazing entertainer, but much more than that he had a gigantic and unbelievably generous heart. ”
Danny Bacher, of Cliffside Park NJ, was a musician, singer, saxophonist and songwriter. The Wayne native graduated Wayne Hills High School and went on to study at the New Jersey City University.
Bacher’s love for music started from his childhood, having been born into a family of art lovers. He was playing the alto saxophone by age 10. He is also an actor, comedian, dancer and writer, having performed in various roles at enues such as the Blue Note, Birdland, Feinstein’s 54 Below, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Town Hall. Bacher has performed several times at Carnegie Hall. He recently released two studio albums, “Swing That Music!” and “Still Happy” on the Whaling City Sound label.
He is a recipient of the prestigious Margaret Whiting Award, Bacher was also nominated for best male vocalist in the 2019 National Jazz Times reader’s poll. According to the New York Times, “prodigiously talented musical preservationist”.
Danny Bacher is survived by his wife of 12 years, Erin, his loving brother Josh and parents Jane and Joel.
