Diane Delano, the popular American character actress known for her role on the CBS sitcom Northern Exposure, has died.

Delano’s death occurred on Friday, December 13th, 2024. She was 66. No cause of death has been revealed.

“A lot of my actor and stunt people friends knew and love Diane Delano like I do. With a very heavy heart I am sad to report her passing,” Andy Sherman said in a tragic social media post. “Every person that knew Diane was pulled into her tractor beam of energy. She played a lot of tough character roles so well and made us laugh with her timing of dialog.”

Diane Delano made a name on Northern Lights but also appeared as Roberta “Bobbi” Glass and her twin sister, Nurse Jessi Glass on the WB television show Popular. She also starred as Hilda, an FBI agent hired to protect Sami Brady, on Days of Our Lives and provided the voice for Big Barda in Batman: The Brave and the Bold. She was also the superheroine Pantha in Teen Titans.

Delano tragically passed away at the same time as William White, who was also on the Northern Exposure show.

Many friends shared great words in tribute of the late actress.

“Diane was incredibly talented as an actress, and could not be a better friend to those close to her. She was a larger than life character who was passionate about the roles she played throughout the decades, but it was her personality that drew you in. So funny, one-of-a-kind and had you bent over in gut-wrenching laughter most of the time.” said fellow thespian Jeannie Thompson.
