A Ghanaian content creator has come under heavy criticism for what many deem a blatant act of disrespect towards Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of Ghana.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the young man is seen imitating Prof. Opoku-Agyemang during her speech following the Electoral Commission’s declaration of John Dramani Mahama as the winner of the 2024 Presidential elections.
The content creator mocked her delivery, insinuating that she lacked a good command of the English language and was speaking incoherently.
This portrayal has sparked outrage among Ghanaians, with many condemning the young man’s actions as tasteless and disrespectful. Critics argue that such mockery is unwarranted, especially considering Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s distinguished career and her contributions to Ghana’s educational and political landscape.
“She has more experience and insight than he could ever dream of. Mocking a national leader in such a crude manner undermines the values we should uphold as Ghanaians,” another critic remarked.
Calls for an apology from the content creator have flooded social media, with many demanding accountabilities for his actions.
