Ghanaian musician and real estate mogul Criss Waddle has set social media ablaze with a scathing critique of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following their defeat in the 2024 general elections. In true Waddle style, he pulled no punches, revisiting one of the most controversial moments of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s tenure, the infamous “fix yourselves” response to Ghanaians demanding better living conditions.
Taking to his platform, Waddle unleashed: “People begged you to fix the country, but you told them to ‘fix themselves.’ Herh, you be champion! We will never forget you da until we die, short man Devil.”
The post, dripping with sarcasm and frustration, went viral almost instantly. It came just as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, conceded defeat to John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Social media, as expected, erupted. While many applauded Waddle for saying what they’d been thinking, others questioned why he waited until the NPP was on its way out to speak up. Some loyalists even called for more respect toward the outgoing president, despite the stinging critique.
