‘We Will Regroup And Come Back Stronger’ – Dr Bawumia After Losing The Elections

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has vowed that despite losing the 2024 election, the party will not give up. Speaking at his residence on Sunday, December 8, during a public address, the Vice President expressed pride in his campaign team and thanked the NPP for their unwavering support.

“We put our best foot forward in the contest, explaining our policies and programs. However, it is sometimes the case that the voter would have other ideas,” Dr. Bawumia remarked, acknowledging the election results.

He assured NPP supporters that, while the outcome was disappointing, the party would regroup and return stronger in the coming years. “I assure you that we will regroup and come back even stronger. We may have lost the battle, but not the war,” he said.

The Vice President pledged that the NPP would adopt a constructive approach as the opposition, vowing to support a seamless transition while holding government actions and policies to strict scrutiny in the interest of the nation. “We will not be a disruptive opposition,” he emphasized.

Dr. Bawumia also expressed his deep gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, his family, campaign team, running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and supporters across the country for their contributions and encouragement throughout his political journey.

He took a moment to commend traditional rulers, religious leaders, the security services, and the media for their role in ensuring a peaceful election process. “Ghana has won. Thank you very much, and may God bless you and God bless our homeland Ghana,” he concluded.
