On Wednesday, December 4, a seven-member jury returned a 4-3 verdict not guilty of Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu, the prime suspect in the murder of the late Abuakwa North MP.
The presiding judge was forced to discharge the jury in accordance with Section 285(4) of the Criminal and Other Offences (Procedure) Act, 1960 (Act 30) because the jury’s verdict was deemed insufficient for further action.
Daniel Asiedu, also known as Sexy Don Don, was charged with robbery and the late MP’s murder. As a result, the suspect is still in custody.
The case’s facts include that the accused went to the late MP’s home and used a ladder to enter the MP’s room. The security guard on night duty was reportedly asleep when the incident happened.
According to reports, the accused fought with the deceased, overpowered the MP, stabbed him in the neck and chest, and stole three phones.
