Tyree Winslow, a Washington D.C. real estate agent and community leader is being mourned following his tragic death in an officer involved shooting in Howard County, Maryland.
Winslow died after Howard County Police were called to a domestic disturbance on the 10000 block of American Pharoah Lane, a townhouse community near the Laurel Park race track, around 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 30th.
A police press release says officers found a woman on the building’s ledge and a man (Winslow) in a window with a long gun. Officers say he refused to drop his gun despite repeated pleas to do so.
Two officers opened fire leading to Winslow being killed. Officers found shell casings from unknown weapons and are investigation whether Winslow was shot or shot himself. An independent division of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office is investigating the shooting.
Tyree Winslow was a real estate consultant and the Chief Executive Officer of Winslow Property Group LLC. He was a community leader and news of his passing sparked responses from several shocked community members.
“Heartbroken to learn Tyree Winslow has passed. Tyree loved hard—dedicated father, entrepreneur, coach, and community leader.” said Ashanti Martinez. “My deepest condolences are with his family, friends, and our Parkdale High School community.”
