Ghanaian actress and television personality, Nayas1, has openly expressed her admiration for President Akufo-Addo, crediting him for the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy.
In a video , Nayas shared how the initiative has personally impacted her life. She explained that as a single mother returning from Germany, times were tough, and finding a good school for her child was a significant challenge.
“Life was difficult for me as a single mother when I returned from Germany,” she said, adding that the Free SHS policy was a lifesaver. She revealed that her child, after completing JHS, was able to enroll in SHS without the financial burdens she feared.
“The only things I bought for my ward were a pen, pencil, and eraser,” Nayas said, emphasizing that she did not have to pay any additional fees.
Grateful for this relief, the actress believes President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia deserve recognition for introducing and supporting the initiative. However, Nayas made it clear that her gratitude was not politically motivated.
“I am not into politics, but if Free SHS had been implemented by the NDC, I would sing the same praises,” she said, underscoring that her praise is purely based on the policy’s impact on her life.
