Six supporters of the Amenfi Central National Democratic Congress (NDC) were injured on Saturday night (November 30) following an attack at Adjakaamanso. The NDC Parliamentary candidate, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, who was part of the group, escaped without injuries.
The incident happened as Madam Gyan Cudjoe and her team were heading back from a campaign. Eyewitnesses reported that a vehicle suddenly blocked their path, and the attackers, believed to be thugs, targeted their vehicle, smashing its windows and causing severe damage.
The injured supporters sustained cuts and bruises on their heads, hands, and legs. They are currently receiving medical care at a nearby hospital.
One of the victims, speaking anonymously, described how the attackers pounced on them, wrecking the campaign vehicle.
The motive behind the attack is not yet known, and the matter has been reported to the Wassa Dominase Police Station, which has launched an investigation.
