King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse,has called for peace, unity, and transparency as Ghana approaches its upcoming elections. His remarks came during a recent courtesy visit by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
While addressing the gathering, the King emphasized the vital role of the Ga Traditional Council in fostering unity within the Ga State and urged the entire nation to prioritize stability during this crucial time.
He praised Ghana’s democratic progress, noting that the country’s ability to hold peaceful elections has set a positive example for the African continent. “Ghana has proven time and again that democracy and peace are possible in Africa,” he said. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II also emphasized that the true credit for successful elections lies with the nation as a whole, irrespective of the election outcomes.
“We must continue to lead by example,” he added, expressing confidence that Ghana’s stability and peaceful electoral processes could inspire other African countries to adopt similar values.
The King further stressed the importance of transparency in the election process, calling on the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure that all procedures remain credible and open. “It is crucial for the EC to act with the utmost transparency so that every Ghanaian can trust the results and feel confident that their vote counts,” he stated.
As the nation gears up for the elections, the Ga Mantse’s message serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to protect Ghana’s democratic achievements and maintain the peace that has become its hallmark.
